Our Family Fun Day at Edaville USA!

Our family was recently invited to spend a fun-filled day at Edaville USA. It was our first time visiting Edaville, and we were super excited -- Lincoln especially! He is a theme park junkie!! We decided to spend the night at my parents house in Rhode Island, so our drive there wouldn't be as long. My boys are surprisingly both fantastic travelers. I really think taking road trips with them at such young ages really helped a ton! Our morning drive was just a little over an hour. Not too bad!

If you've never been to Edaville, you're in for a treat! For starters, parking is FREE! That seems so rare today, and I really appreciate that feature.
Once we arrived, and slathered ourselves with sunscreen, we let the boys take the lead! We find this always works best if we let them have a little bit of control in what we do -- much fewer meltdowns!! The first thing Lincoln did was grab a map. He loves to see exactly where we are located and direct the way.
The first stop was the Samba Balloon Ride; where Lincoln took his Grandpa for a spin high in the sky! After some serious spinning, it was time to fly an elephant! Avery was tall enough for this ride, so he was really super excited!
The elephants went a little too fast for my dad. HA! But the boys sure did have fun -- that's really all that matters, right?!

Throughout Edaville, you will notice fun character cut-outs where you can have your photo taken. Naturally, Lincoln ran to each and every one!
What would an amusement park be without a Ferris Wheel? Get the best view from the highest point in Carver. It's a true classic and fun for the whole family!
While Lincoln and Daddy enjoyed the view from the Ferris Wheel, I hung out with this adorable boy.
Next it was time to ride Thomas the Tank Engine! We hopped aboard to enjoy a nice 20-minute scenic train ride to take in all the sights and sounds of Edaville USA.
As most of you know, I use a wheelchair. The train was wheelchair accessible. The conductor assisted us to the ramp, and onto a train car.
Once aboard, the boys were so excited to be on the train! Avery has been really into trains lately, so of course he was saying, "Choo-Choo!!" the whole time!

The train ride was the perfect opportunity to relax and cool off for a bit. It was also fun to take in the sights of the entire amusement park! We spotted a few areas under construction. It looks like Edaville USA is planning even more new attractions in the future!!
We briefly visited Dino Land. This is one of Edaville's newer adventures. It features 23 life size animatronic dinosaurs. My boys took a quick ride on the Bone Shaker, a prehistoric spin on a bumpy ride! There's also a walking trail, however, it was SO SO SO HOT that we opted against it. I bet it would be a nice walk on a cooler day!
Lincoln's favorite part of Edaville USA was Thomas LandCovering 11.5 acres the Island of Sodor comes to life in a lush New England landscape. Families can visit iconic destinations including Knapford Station and Tidmouth Sheds and enjoy 11 themed rides featuring favorite characters like Cranky the Crane, Harold the Helicopter, and more!
Lincoln successfully persuaded his Daddy into riding Cranky Crane's Drop; a ride that is sure to get you cranked up! Lincoln's been on these type of rides before, but never one that goes this high! He was maybe a little bit nervous....
....but of course he loved the ride SO much, he ended up going on twice! I'm not sure if Daddy enjoyed it as much as Lincoln. HA! He doesn't really care for any type of thrill rides, and I cannot go on them. However, he is such a trooper for his little boy!
Both Lincoln and Avery were able to put their firefighting skills to the test on Firefighting FlynnJump into Flynn’s basket and help him put out the fire by shooting water to extinguish the flames in this fun interactive ride.
The boys really enjoyed Firefighting Flynn because they got a little wet!! What kid doesn't enjoy a water ride?! Annnnd if I'm being totally honest, I was right nearby the ride to snap some photos, and I even got a little wet -- a VERY welcome surprise because it was SO hot!!

Diesel Derby is a great ride for the whole family! Take a scenic tour of Ffarquhar Quarry on the Island of Sodar!
Other ride favorites were: Toby's Tilting Tracks and the Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster. Lincoln really wanted to go on Winston's Skyline Express, but everyone else in the park seemed to as well! The line was super duper long...so long that Lincoln even decided against waiting. We'll be sure to do it next time!!
A few tips for you:
  • You are allowed to bring in your own food! While Edaville USA does offer many dining and snacking options, you are welcome to bring your own.
  • Edaville USA is open Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays) during the summer months. They are open 10 AM - 6 PM. I would suggest getting there right at opening. There is plenty to  do and see to keep your family busy all day long.
  • If you get there right at opening, I would suggest heading straight to Winston's Skyline Express, located in Thomas Land. If you go later in the afternoon (like we did), you will probably have to wait in a long line, as this seems to be a very popular ride.
  • Thomas the Tank Engine Train Rides depart one hour after Edaville USA opens. You can ride the train as many times as you'd like during your visit, however, the last train departs one hour before the posted closing time.
  • Bring your own bottled water or refillable water bottle and sunscreen. If you're visiting on a summer day, you will be HOT!!! There is not much shade, except when you're in any of the buildings.
  • The Sodar Play Zone is a great place to cool off indoors and recharge. Kids ages 4-12 are invited to climb and play in a soft play area and ball pit. There is also a new toddler play area as well!
  • Edaville USA is breastfeeding friendly! Located inside of Cran Juction, there is a private room for nursing mothers.
  • Make sure you visit their gift shop! I know, I know. Sometimes we will try to avoid going into a gift shop at all costs. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices were -- and they had a great selection!!

Overall we had a wonderful day at Edaville USA! It is really such a great park for the little ones. It truly is focused entirely on them! I was also incredibly impressed with how clean the park was. I saw several employees diligently making sure if something was on the ground that didn't belong there, picking it up. The park is really beautiful!

If you're looking for a fun-filled day with your family, and  have younger children, you should start planning your visit to Edaville USA!!
