Oh, Christmastime! How I love this time of the year. You know, despite the frigid temperatures. Miraculously, we have yet to have any snow, and it has been in the 50's most days! Some people are complaining, but not me!! I will embrace this warm weather while it decides to stick around.
This year we are really going all out for Christmas. Some may say we're crazy, or spoiling our kids, but I really don't care one bit. I think our family deserves a heck of a Christmas this year. Lincoln and Avery will receive every bit of magic I can give to them. I cannot wait to see their little faces light up on Christmas morning.
Traditions are very important to me. My memories from when I was a child are filled with family traditions. I have been carrying down some of my favorite traditions with my children, and of course we come up with a few new ones along the way!
This year our house is full-blown, all out decked for Christmas. We have really gotten into the holiday spirit, and I love every bit of it! It all started with our Christmas tree, and it took off from there.
Our stockings are hung!
Please excuse my messy kitchen, but don't you just love our holiday card display?! Notice our Elf on the Shelf, "L," hanging out on top of the microwave ;)
One of my new favorite traditions is the Winter Wonderland Interactive Calendar from Personal Creations. It's a fun take on your traditional advent calendar. It includes 8 cute plush characters that can be stuck on the tree, as well as 25 pockets for little treats! It can also be personalized for your family. I really love it.
It has a little candy cane that you move each day to countdown to Christmas. Lincoln loves loves LOVES it! It's literally the first thing he does each morning. He then has to show everyone in the house.
He is very proud of our fun calendar!
Avery loves our Winter Wonderland Calendar, as well. He mostly loves to take the plush figures on and off..which of course drives his big brother crazy!
So yes. We will have a storybook Christmas this year, and we will celebrate each and every magical moment together.
