I feel like I haven't given an update on my sweet Lincoln in a long time. I can hardly believe that he's FOUR AND A HALF. That just seems so much like big kid status to me! So many people have told me that he has changed so much recently. Losing what is left of that little baby face, and turning into a full-on little boy! It's all so exciting to watch him grow, but I really cannot get over how quickly the time has gone. He is my firstborn. My sweet boy who made me a Momma. As much as I try to treasure all these sweet moments with him, they are all going by in the blink of an eye.
Although he is no longer a baby, one thing has not changed. He is still SO incredibly sweet. We recently had his end of the year evaluation with his teachers at school, and they all said the same thing. He is one of the sweetest little boys they have ever met. That was so nice to hear! I mean, I know he's sweet...but to hear someone else say it, and recognize it means a lot. He still has one more year of preschool, and he will be with the same teachers again. They all just adore him. They said he is hardworking, he listens well, and he's a good friend. They also said he's able to stand up for himself...something that made me very proud. Because he is a sweet kid, it could be all too easy for others to walk all over him. I'm glad he basically doesn't take any crap :)
He is also full-on the "why" stage. I have learned a little trick though. If he's not satisfied with my answer, I'll turn it to him and ask, "why do YOU think?" He always has a response. And, it always starts off with, "maybe because..."
He is also still such a Momma's boy. And honestly, I love it so incredibly much!
He is a PHENOMENAL big brother. My goodness, he is sweet with Avery! This is one of my favorite photos of them, even though they're both not looking at the camera. Lincoln was telling Avery a story, and Avery was just looking at Lincoln like he is the greatest thing in the world. The bond that they are developing is so amazing to watch.
That totally needs to be framed, don't you think?!
When we took our mini-vacation to Philly last week, Lincoln was just so thrilled to be going on another road trip with our little family. He has been traveling pretty consistently since he was a little over a year old. He LOVES to travel. Road trips, airplane trips, it really doesn't matter. He is in his element. Jared and I just watched him for a bit when we arrived at our hotel. He meticulously walked around the room, checking out each little detail.
He has such a happy little spirit. Something I hope never changes as he gets older, and realizes the world is not as perfect as he thinks. I hope he always has that little zest for life that he exhibits.
And funny. Oh my goodness, he is hysterical. Sometimes having conversations with him really blows my mind. The things he comes out with are unbelievable.
He recently finished up his soccer season. He had a great season, but has a request for Daddy to be his coach in the fall! I don't think Jared could possibly say no to that, so hopefully it all works out.
And here was his "silly" face. How sweet is he?!
He's been into all things "monster trucks" lately. It's been going on for awhile. He loves "Gravedigger." And they really need a better name for that truck! Anyways, he's been asking to go to a "monster truck show" for some time now. It just so happened that Monster Jam was coming to a stadium near us. We bought tickets for him to go with Jared, my brother, and Dad. However, we didn't tell him about it. It was a total surprise!
Jared said once he figured out where he was, and what he was going to see was the greatest thing ever. He was just so excited!

I mean, just look at his face. You can tell he's just totally into it!
So in a nutshell, Lincoln is amazing, and he continues to amaze me everyday. My sweet boy is going to go places in his life. I just know it!
