I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions. Sure they sound nice, but in all actuality, they are hardly ever followed through. Last week I shared my "word" for the year. I really like this concept, because it's just a little reminder of something you'd like to do or change. Pretty simple.
This year, however, I would like to set some goals for myself and for our family. Everyone needs to have goals. So rather than calling them "resolutions," I think goals is a more fitting term.
So, here we go:
--Get our finances in order!!! I know lots of people say this, but we really, REALLY need to. I'm a stay at home mom, so we live off of one income. And, I am very thankful and fortunate that we are able to do this. Jared did quite well this year, and I'm sort of embarrassed to say that we really don't have anything to show for it. And by "show", I don't' mean a fancy schmancy new car. I mean money put away in savings. We really need to start budgeting our money more effectively.
--Get up and get moving!!! Obviously, I'm talking about working out here. And while I know everyone says this at the start of a new year, I'm going to say it as well. I need to establish some sort of exercise routine. This last pregnancy was really tough on my body. The last three months of my pregnancy, I did not walk because of the SPD. I NEED to get into shape. For not only myself, but for my boys. I have about 10 pounds to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I know if I get on good exercise regiment, I can lose those pounds. But then I need to tone up and get some strength! This is certainly my biggest and most important goal for the year. My boys need a strong Momma!!
--Last year, I wrote a post about the importance of being in the moment with your children...and putting that damn phone down!! I think I have certainly got better at this, but it is definitely something I need to work on more. I need to stop doing 1.5 million things at once, and just be.
--Continue to improve my blog. I love this little space of mine on the interwebs. I love writing about our little family, and sharing it with all of you. I love that one day, I can share these posts with my boys. I love being able to look back, and reminisce on these precious memories. It's all too easy to get caught up with page views and other stats. This place is mine, and I blog for me.
Do you make goals for yourself each year? Let's hear them!!
