Christmas has come and gone, and as usual, I'm late on my Christmas recap. But hey, at least I'm consistent with that, right?!
Anyways, we had a really nice holiday. It seemed like Christmas really snuck up on me this year. We didn't put our tree up as early as usual -- but I think most of that had to do with having a brand new baby! We were really just getting accustomed to our new family of four -- decorating was one of the last things on my mind. However, it was really important we do our usual festivities. Especially for our Lincoln.
We managed to put up our usual decorations, and Daddy and Lincoln cut down a Christmas tree to decorate. Did I ever mention we live on a Christmas tree farm? It's quite convenient!
Next year I'm hoping the addition on our house will be complete, so we can have a ridiculously huge tree -- but for now, this will do :)
Christmas Eve is always spent with a huge party on Jared's side of the family. The past two years, my parents and brother have also joined us. It's a fun time for all...especially the kids, there's a special visit from Santa!!
Earlier this year, we lost Jared's grandmother, Lincoln's great grandmother. Her presence was definitely missed that evening...as she's the one who started this huge family! Her birthday is also on Christmas Eve, so it was very bittersweet. Jared's grandfather was however there. He was very excited to meet his 29th great grandchild, Avery.
He's 94 years old, folks. Doesn't he look fantastic?
We wrapped up the party, and then headed back to our house to exchange gifts with my parents and brother. We started this tradition the year Lincoln was born. It definitely cuts down some time on opening gifts in the morning...as Lincoln always makes out very well!
That's me and my little brother. Aren't brothers great?!
Jared rocked his ugly Christmas sweater t-shirt!
We tucked ourselves into bed close to midnight. We had to bribe Lincoln and tell him Santa would only come if he was sleeping! Poor boy wanted to open all his new toys!!
Come Christmas morning, he was very excited to discover Santa did come...and left him his very own Batman recliner!!
I swear, he was way more excited about it than it looks! He was just having a typical cranky moment.
We spent the day at our house with both our families. It was really a fantastic day, full of love, laughter, family...and snuggles. There's always snuggles...
We celebrated Avery's very first Christmas! He was very impressed!!
Lincoln got many, many gifts. Our family was very generous with our boys. One of Lincoln's favorites was his "hockey guys" set.
I never miss an opportunity to grab my camera [or in this case, phone] to snap a shot of my gorgeous boys together...
Seriously, they even all match! That wasn't even intended!
As I said, Lincoln made out very well. Perhaps we went overboard?
Oh well. They're only this little once!
I hope you all had a great Christmas. I know we sure did!
