Easter Outfits for Toddler Boys

Easter is ridiculously early this year, which means...I've been thinking about what Lincoln is going to wear!  This year, Easter falls on March 31st.  I'm not really a fan of Easter in March, because that means it has a very strong potential to be a bit too chilly here in New England. Which of course means, all those cute outfits with darling plaid shorts are out of the picture.

However, I still want to dress Lincoln in spring colors.  I found a few cute long sleeve shirt and pant outfits at stores, but in my opinion, the colors were too dark for Easter.

But at last, after much searching, I bring to you my favorite three Easter ensembles {so far!} for toddler boys!

childrens place boys easter outfit

This first look is from the Children's Place.  I actually saw this set up in the store, but with shorts.  I  paired it with khaki pants for our unpredictable New England weather, and boat shoes rather than sandals.

old navy boys easter outfit

This next one from Old Navy is a bit more casual, but still cute nonetheless!  It's hard to see in the photo, but the tie actually has little tiny mustaches printed on it!  Lincoln could totally pull off this look, plus, it's casual enough that he could wear it on other occasions!

 gymboree easter outfit boys

And lastly, probably my favorite of the three, from Gymboree.  I just love everything about this outfit.  My sweet boy would look incredibly handsome!! And those shoes...kill me!! So adorable!!

Do you have your child's Easter outfits picked out yet?

Disclosure: I wasn't compensated at all to write about these companies.  I just really had fun making outfits :)

Wall Art is Addicting - & a Free Printable!

So this is basically a post where I whore out my etsy shop, and tell you about all the ridiculously awesome new stuff I'm selling.

About a year ago, I started making yarn wreaths, and then shortly later added some hair accessories.  Just recently I added wall art, and if I'm being honest...I've become a bit obsessed.  Here is just a sample of a few things I've created recently...

Cute, right? Or not?  That's okay too :)  I'm personally pretty excited about these, but hey, I could just a be a bit biased.  Again, these are just a sampling of what is currently being offered, I have other designs and colors available in my shop

All prints can either be purchased digitally, where I send you a high resolution jpeg in your email, and you print out yourself...or I can also print your art on an 8x10 120 lb. heavy cardstock.

And now because you've put up with me soliciting my new little work of art, here's a FREE printable available exclusively to my readers!  Just click on the image, then right click to save, and do whatever you'd like with it!

Have you eye on a special printable in my shop?  Use coupon code "Momma20" for 20% off.  So, go shop!...or not...either way, thought I'd share ;)

Week by iPhone - 8/52

This week?  It was pretty darn fabulous.  Lincoln didn't have preschool Monday or Tuesday, so we knew we had to do something to keep our busy boy busy!
Lincoln had a gift card burning a hole in his pocket, so we headed to Build a Bear so he could "make" a new friend.  He chose a bunny that is supposed to be from the movie "Hop."  I think they did a great job, because with the little outfit, he totally looks just like him!
We browsed around the mall a bit, and hit some of Lincoln's favorites like the Disney Story {heck, it's one of my favorites too!}, and we went out for lunch.  Lincoln also managed to score himself some new McQueen slippers at H&M, lucky boy! These slippers have not left his feet!

I started working out with kettlebells.  I'm only using a 3 lb, and they're still freaking heavy!  The kettlebells I purchased came with a DVD.  I think I also want to get Jillian Michaels Shred it with Weights.  We'll see.
Thursday night I had a girls night with two other ladies.  We went to see Safe Haven and then went out for wing afterwards.  HIGHLY recommend Safe Haven.  Loved every second of it, and now I really want to read the book!  While I was at my girls night, Lincoln and Daddy were at Lincoln's cousins house, so they had a pretty good night too!
Speaking of my Lincoln.  This boy?  He's such a little comedian!  He's been putting his winter hat on with his headphones while he plays the keyboard and sings along.  Hysterical!!!
Have you tried Chobani's new yogurt "bite?" OMG YUM!!!  I seriously wish it was in a larger container because I feel like I could eat the entire four pack!

Now here we are, getting ready to start another week!  I'm hoping to get something accomplished with the planning of our addition we're adding onto our house.  I'll post more about that soon!

Friday Ramblings

Consider this post a bit of a brain dump.

I finally am all caught up on scheduling doctors appointments.  I have been putting off FOREVER finding a primary care doctor since I moved to Connecticut, five years ago.  I know.  Bad, very bad, Kami.  Anyways, during one of Lincoln's naptimes last week, I scheduled not only that, but also an orthopedic appointment, because, you know, having OI and all, it's kinda important.  And, I haven't been to one in SEVEN years.  Yeah.  And at that, it was with my old orthopedist who's been following me since I was a baby.  He's a pediatric orthopedist.  I figured it was time to move on to a big girl ortho.  Anyways.  The last appointment I scheduled was with an ENT for a dreaded hearing test.  Ten years ago I had inner ear surgery to correct my hearing loss.  The surgery was only a temporary fix, and well, I know I have some significant loss in my left ear.  More than likely I'm looking at a hearing aid.  Blah.

I also made Lincoln his first dentist appointment.  I scheduled it with a pediatric dentist in hopes that it will maybe be a little more "fun" for him?  Maybe?  We can hope.

I have also recently turned into a crazy lady, researching the Disney Vacation Club.  I even talked to Jared about it, and we're thinking it's a possibility to buy in sometime in 2014!!! :::SQUEE!!!::: If you have any info on the Disney Vacation Club that you'd like to pass on, please comment below, or send me an email.  I'd love to hear your recommendations!!

We went to Build a Bear this past week, and Lincoln insisted he get a wheelchair for his bunny.  They actually sell little tiny wheelchairs for the stuffed animals.  He thought it was the greatest thing ever.  I wasn't  going to buy it for him, but Jared thought it was important that we did.  He said something really sweet, "I'm Lincoln's person, and I use a wheelchair.  Of course he wants it."

bunny wheelchair

Lincoln named the bunny "Hop."  They're pretty much inseparable right now. Although, I had to bribe him to not take the wheelchair to bed with him.

I started {finally} working out two weeks ago.  I bought some kettlebells, and I've also been doing some floor exercises from my cheerleading days.  I didn't realize how out of shape I was, until I started exercising!! I really need to stick with this routine.

We're still chugging along on the TTC baby #2 train.  There's not much to update on that, other than we're not pregnant yet.  As crazy as this sounds, the longer the time passes, the more comfortable I am with our little family of three dynamic.  I'm not saying we're "one and done," or anything.  But I know I could be 100% completely happy with our family as it is now.  That being said, we do want another baby.  Does that make sense, at all?  Hah!  Probably not!

Well, that's all I've got!  Enjoy your weekend!!

Affresh Cleaner - Review & Giveaway

affresh review

Let's face it.  Being a Mom is a messy job.  Those little hands we love so much, are notorious for leaving sticky messes.  Everywhere.  It seems like right when I'm finished cleaning one thing, it's time to move on to clean the next...only to realize then realize, the first thing needs cleaning...again.  It's a never ending, messy cycle.

I am always on the lookout for the latest and greatest cleaning product to make household chores an easier, faster task.

I was recently introduced to Affresh Cleaner, and was offered to test out their entire line of cleaning products.

affresh review giveaway

Affresh offers a budget friendly solution for keeping your house sparkling clean.  When these products are used regularly, they also will help to extend the life of your appliances!

Have a smelly washer?  Try Affresh Washer Cleaner to get rid of odor and residue left behind by detergents, lint and soils.  Affresh Washer Cleaner tablets penetrate and dissolve unseen residue in hard to reach places inside your washer and leave it smelling fresh!
Can’t get your cooktop clean enough? Remove even the toughest baked-on residue with the Affresh Cooktop Cleaner and pad. This non-abrasive cleaner works without damaging the surface of your cooktop and can even prevent build-up when used regularly.
Crumbs and spills left behind? Safely remove everyday food spills and stuck-on residue from inside your microwave and refrigerator, plus your favorite small appliances (blenders, toasters, mixers) with Affresh Kitchen & Appliance Cleaner without the need to rinse after.  Simply spray on a cloth, wipe down your appliance and watch the grime disappear.

Smudgy Stainless Steel? Affresh Stainless Steel Cleaner removes fingerprints, smudges and residue left behind from daily use, and leaves your stainless steel shinier than ever.

I was very impressed with the line of cleaning products Affresh offers.   I wanted to share with you a before an after photo of my dishwasher when cleaned with their stainless steel cleaner.

Can you see those amazing results?  There was seriously some crazy residue looking stuff that appeared to be running down my dishwasher, right?  And after?  Gone!  I really love this cleaner, because if you have stainless steel appliances, you know how hard it is to maintain their appearance.  I was incredibly impressed with the results.

You can purchase the entire line of Affresh products at mass retailers or even online at amazon!

Now the fun part.  One of my readers is going to WIN the entire line of Affresh cleaning products!

Effin' Poop

Let me start off by saying, for me to title this post "Effin' Poop," you know I'm pretty pissed off.  I don't just randomly drop F bombs.  Seriously.  I'm not saying I'm a saint or anything, I just hardly swear.  My swear word is "shit."  No joke.  Don't judgies for anyone who has a potty mouth [pun intended].

Anyways.  As I was saying...

Lincoln has been pee potty trained for about two months now.  He is also consistently waking up dry each night, which I think is amazing.  We were however having some issues in the poop department.  For whatever reason, he was terrified of sitting on the toilet, or even one of the three [I'm serious] potty's we have purchased for him.  I would have him in undies because if I put a pull up on him, he'd just poop in that.  We really tried every sort of bribe in the books.  No dice.

What would happen was he wouldn't poop in the undies...or anywhere else for that matter.  He would just hold it.  Then we would end up getting to three or four days or so, and I would put a pull up on him because I figured it needs to come out some how!

For the past two weeks, no matter what Lincoln is wearing, undies OR pull up, he is refusing to poop.

What will happen is, he'll get the urge so to say, and he will run over to the couch and lay down.  He will do this until the urge passes and he no longer has to go.  This pattern went on for five long days, and finally I had to give him a suppository.  That did the trick, only five days later we were in the same position, and I had to administer another one.

Lincoln already gets Miralax each morning because he's dealt with constipation since he's been two years old or so.  I also try to keep as much fiber as he'll allow in his diet, as well as give him a daily fiber gummy vitamin.

With ALL of that, he still wasn't pooping.  That is just not okay.  When a little boy just wants to lay on the couch all day, with NO TV, and not play, something is wrong!

I ended up doing a Miralax cleanse, to clean him out so to say.  We are totally laying off pooping in the potty, and just encouraging him to poop period.  We don't care where he does it at this point, we just want him to poop.  We are also keeping him in a pull up.  At this point, he understands that poop goes in the potty, but for whatever reason, he's just not ready to take that step.

Constipation is no joke.  It's the worst thing in the world to see your child in so much pain.  And for him to try with all his might to just hold it, OHMYGAWD, it's so awful.

I know it will eventually come to him.  He'll be 100% potty trained, when he's ready.  And in the meantime, for the love of god, please just poop.

Week by iPhone - 7/52

Last week we were still recovering from the 28 inches of snow we received during the blizzard.   Lincoln didn't have school Monday AND Tuesday, which was insane.  Lincoln just loves school, and the whole routine of going in the mornings.  He had himself a pretty good case of cabin fever.
Thankfully school wasn't cancelled on Wednesday, because his class had their Valentine's Day party.  Lincoln received Valentine's from all of his friends.  He was so excited, and it was seriously adorable!
Thursday was Valentine's Day, and while Jared and I have a "no gifts" rule, he broke it yet again! Lucky for me, he also decided to order himself some golf clubs, so that was my present to him ;)
Lincoln also made out for Valentine's Day with some cards from Daddy & Mommy, as well as a few in the mail!  He loves mail :)
Lincoln and I spent the weekend at my parents house, while Jared had hockey games in New Jersey.  We were able to spend some nice time with my parents and brother, and even got to sneak in a visit with my BFF, her hubs, and their twin boys!
So despite the nasty snow, and how we were homebound for a few days,  this week wasn't too shabby!

In other news, I'm not pregnant AGAIN this month.  Ugh.  If I get pregnant this month I'll be due the day before Lincoln's birthday, but I'd have another scheduled C-section the week before.  Maybe I'm just meant to have November babies ;)

These planners are simply gorgeous.  This photo really doesn't even do it justice.

Top Ten Valentines For Kids

Last week, I shared with you all my Top Ten Valentines Day Crafts for Kids via Pinterest {according to me}.  I promised to share my favorite Valentines for kids this week!  With Lincoln in preschool this year, I'm a bit excited about all the "school" things I get to do with him.  In all honesty, I'm probably more excited than he is, because he still doesn't quite "get it" yet.  I was really thrilled when I received the notice that his class would be having a Valentine's Day party.  The teachers requested the kids to bring in valentines for all their friends.  Seriously adorable, right?!

I knew I wanted to do something a bit different, rather than go to Target and buy a box of valentines and call it a day.  I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, or that I won't necessarily do that in the future, but I wanted something else.  So I turned to good ol' Pinterest to see what I could come up with...

What kid doesn't like bubbles?  These would be incredibly simple to make, and would be a great hit for sure!

How incredibly creative are these Cars inspired valentines?!  What car-loving kid wouldn't flip over receiving a McQueen or Mater valentine?  I originally was going to do this for Lincoln's class, but then I quickly realized it would be a bit work, and I'd be doing mostly the entire thing.  But they sure are cute!

These would be great for school aged children.  Owl bookmarks!  Adorable!!

Recycled crayons in the shape of a heart, surrounded by a valentine.  I really need to do this with all of Lincoln's broken crayons.

Play Doh Valentines.  A simple printable sticker to place on the top of a play doh container.  Easy, cute, and the kids will love it!

"I mustache you a question.  Will you be my Valentine?" Can be made with either a mustache, or lips!  Kids will think these are hysterical....and so will adults ;)

This was another Valentine I almost chose for Lincoln's class.  Even though there are 3 girls, what girl wouldn't want her own matchbox car?!  I know I played cars with my brother when I was a kid.  Although we decided on something else, I think this is a great idea!

Super hero lollipops?!  These seriously slay me with their cuteness.  Very creative!!

Butterfly lollipop valentines.  I figured because a few of my valentine ideas are mostly "boy inspired," I'd throw one in for the girlies :)

Finger puppet Valentines.  I love how creative these are, and it's simple enough for your little tot to help make!

So there's your Top Ten Valentine's for Kids!  So what did we choose for Lincoln's class?  None of them!  So consider this a "Top Eleven" list!  Here's what Lincoln's friends at school will receive...

toddler valentines

I just love how these came out.  I ordered these printable valentines from etsy, and just stapled them on the top of an individual bag of goldfish!  I am really happy with how they came out, and Lincoln is so excited to give them to his friends at school.

Are your kids exchanging valentines with their friends at school?  If so, I'd love to hear about them!

Week by iPhone - 6/52

Our week?  Well.  It was a mix of ups and downs. The week started off okay with preschool, silly shenanigans at home, and some baking with my sweet Lincoln.  But towards the end...Lincoln was sick yet again!  I swear, since starting preschool in November, it's something new each week! I know it's normal and all, but it's so sad.  So far he's just had some nasty colds. No fever or anything, and nothing bad enough where he had to miss school.

Thursday morning he woke up a little warm.  I took his temp and it was 99.8.  I ended up giving him some motrin, and bringing him to school.  He was acting perfectly fine, and he's only in school for 2.5 hours.  The rest of the day he was okay, however, come nighttime, it was an entirely different story.  His temp shot up to 102.6, he developed a nasty cough, had absolutely no appetite, and was pretty miserable.  That night I was up with him from 12-3am.

Friday, Lincoln doesn't have school, but we were preparing for a huge blizzard....Nemo.  Go figure.  I didn't want to risk Lincoln getting worse, and being stuck at home, so I called the pedi.  Thankfully, they were able to get us right in.  They tested Lincoln for strep, and checked him all out.  The strep test came back negative and they determined he just has an upper respiratory infection...which basically means, we just ride it out.  I don't regret bringing him in, because I would have been freaking out wondering if he's okay.

And about that blizzard?  Boy did we get one!  28 inches of snow in fact!  Lincoln and I braved the storm alone.  Jared pretty much worked the entire thing.  I was so scared that we would lose power, but thankfully we didn't. When we woke up the next morning, not even thinking, I opened the back door to let Evy outside, and a TON of snow  came into the house.  CRAZY!!

Lincoln was just in awe of the snow.  He was a little too sick to go outside and play in it, but I'm hoping he can get out there this week!

Because we were cooped up in the house all weekend, with our sick little boy, we did lots of snuggling, movie watching, and craft projects.  My boy loves him some paint! I was so incredibly impressed by the heart he painted all on his own!  Seriously, for a three year old, it was pretty freaking amazing!
