Top Ten Reason's I'd Love a Baby Girl!

I recently shared with you the top ten reasons I'd love another boy.  With my anatomy scan just a week away, today I'm going to tell you the...

So with that, here they are, in no particular order:

1.  Lincoln gets to have a baby sister.  I think he would be such an incredibly sweet, protective big brother to his sister.

2.  Jared would get to have his "daddy's girl."  Deep down, I know he longs for one.

3.  Baby girl clothes!  Seriously.  I think I may be committed if this baby is a girl.  I will more than likely feel the need to BUY ALL THE THINGS!!!

4.  My mom is my best friend.  I would love to have that kind of relationship with a daughter of my own.

5.  I could be a dance/cheerleading mom!  You know, except not the psycho kind they show on TV.  I was a cheerleader for 7 years, and I loved every second of it.  If my daughter was interested in cheering or dancing {or both!}, I would love to experience that with her.

6.  Baby dolls, tea parties, painting nails....you know, all that fun girly stuff!

7.  Jared walking his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, and dancing with her for their special father/daughter dance. :::cue the tears:::

8.  Being able to experience motherhood with her.  If my daughter decides to have children someday, I would be overjoyed to experience it with her.  I know since becoming a mom, it certainly has made me appreciate and admire my own mother on a whole other level.

9.  I'd have one of each!

10.  If I'm honest with myself, deep down, I always imagined myself having a daughter.

Well, there you have it!  Now let's see next week if this sweet baby will be another boy, or a girl!  Either way, I will be 100% happy.  Our family will be complete.  We'll have the dynamic bond of brothers, or the sweet bond of an older brother and baby sister.  I cannot wait!!!

xoxo

  1. This is such a good idea - outlining the great things about each. I confess I had a strong preference through both pregnancies, and doing something like this would have been a great way to help my thinking on the subject... I love positivity, and this is great.

  3. We have a 2 1/2 year old son and our baby girl is now 3 months old. We opted against finding out the sex of our second child, but guessed all along it was a boy. We bought one dress to come home from the hospital - just in case we had a girl. You cannot imagine the glorious surprise of being told we had a girl. For all the reasons you listed, I thought 2 boys would be ideal. Now I sit and talk to our baby girl about all the fun we'll have as mom and daughter - again for the same reasons you list. This is a wonderful post that sums up the way we felt both before delivery and after. We, too, are complete with our two children (and would have been regardless of the sex of our second child). For me, there was a feeling of euphoria knowing that I wouldn't have any more children. I had easy pregnancies and adore children (had I started earlier in life, maybe I'd have a whole house full of little ones), but knowing our family is complete and we don't have to plan, try, stress, etc. about getting pregnant again is a blessing. I affirms my decision that two is perfect for us. I hope you have that same joy after the birth of your second angel. Enjoy your babies. Life is good.
