So, we had a little scare this past week. Last Thursday, I went to my monthly OB appointment, and things were great. Friday morning, I woke up to brown spotting. Cue freak out. I called my OB, and they had me come in. They assured me everything should be okay, but still wanted to check me out. My cervix was thankfully still closed. Next up they did an ultrasound to check on the baby, and he/she let us know everything was just fine. It looks like we have another wild one in there, just like how Lincoln was! My doctor said sometimes blood goes over the placenta, and then will eventually come out as brown spotting. He said it's very common, but of course it's always a good idea to get checked out.
I am just so thankful that everything's okay. This may sound weird, but I don't think I realized how much I want this baby until this happened. I don't feel like I've connected much with this baby in the same way when I was pregnant with Lincoln. I'm sure it's because it's my second pregnancy, and I have Lincoln to occupy most of my time. But, when I ever saw that brown spotting on the toilet paper, my heart sank.
Anyways, here's the weekly survey...you know, the one I don't do every week ;)
How far along? 16 weeks
Weight gain/loss: I'm up 5 pounds.
Stretch marks? None.
Sleep? Still good.
Best moment this week? Seeing our little one on the ultrasound screen, being wild and crazy :)
Food cravings: Olive Garden soup, salad, & breadsticks!!
Gender: We will find out the end of June.
Belly button in or out? By the end of the day, it's flat.
Movement? Nothing I can feel yet, but according to my ultrasound the other day, we have a wild one in there!
What I'm looking forward to: Anatomy scan in 2 weeks!
Milestones: Hmm. Just knowing everything is going okay.
