I haven't posted about Lincoln's speech progress in awhile, so I figured I'd share how he's doing.
While he still is not 100% caught up to where he technically should be, he is seriously making more progress each and every day. The "two word" phrases are finally starting to come out spontaneously! And I am just so proud of him. What's even better, is I can see how proud he is of himself, and that fills my heart with such joy.
"Dada" comes out clear as day. We still co-sleep with Lincoln, and the first thing he asks for when he wakes up in the morning is, "Dada?" He's been doing this for a few weeks now. Also, when Jared comes home from work he gets all sorts of excited, running to him all while screaming "DADAAAAA!!!"
Now, back to "Momma." I mentioned before that Lincoln called me "a nonna," which is exactly what he calls a banana. He used to say, "Mum Mum Mum" when he was upset about something. But, he hasn't done that one in quite some time now. I was just "a nonna." Which seriously was okay. I know he was trying SO hard to say "Momma," but he just couldn't figure it out.
My sweet, sweet boy calls me Momma!!! It's the best, most wonderful, perfect thing I've ever heard! I think he knows it too, because he'll sweetly give me those big brown eyes of his and say, "Momma." I am putty in his hands!!! I seriously melt every.single.time I hear him call me "Momma."
It may have taken him 2 1/2 years, but I'm Momma. And it was so worth the wait.
