Fifty Shades of...."OHHH MY!!!"

Fifty Shades of Grey.  The hottest trilogy out there...literally.  Have you read it?  I read all three books in about three weeks time.  If I had the time, I could have finished them all in a matter of days.  I was that hooked.  I don't normally read these type of books.  But all over the internet was talk of Christian Grey.  I had to find out what all the hype was about.
So?  I dove head first into book one.  And despite how horribly awful the actual writing is, I was very intrigued.  I would find myself reading "just one more chapter" until 1am!
Sure it was very repetitive, and the English major in me cringed at some of the context, but it was oddly appealing.
The first book ends with such a cliff hanger that you are more than willing to tear into book two.  I personally found that the storyline developed more in books two and three.  Sure there was still endless amounts of "kinky fuckery" [omg I cannot believe I just said that], but there was more.

If you have not read these books yet, I will warn you.  Prepare to read the several lines over and over again.

"I blushed crimson."

"I turned scarlet."

"....and he smelled of Christian."

"I do as I'm bid."

"Stow that twitching palm."

"We aim to please."

Christian saying, "Come for me baby." and Ana doing so on demand.  Umm, if one of my readers is able to do this, please speak up...because I think personally I'd feel all pressured and get stage freight.

And let's not forget the dreadful, repetitive talk between Ana and her inner goddess and subconscious

Despite that dreadfulness....I enjoyed the books.  And, I encourage you to read them.

I also wanted to share a few "your ecards" that I found floating aroud on pinterest.  These surely made me laugh.

Okay.  Now.  Did you know you can now purchase your very own Fifty Shades apparel?!

You can get these shirts on sites like CafePress, Zazzle, and even Etsy!

Now?  Did you hear they are making a movie out of these books?  I cannot imagine what this will even be rated, because the books are most certainly even more extreme than an "R" rating.  However, here's who I'd love to see as Christian and Ana.

Colin Egglesfield and Alexis Bledel.  Okay, for starters...just look at that photo of Colin.  And those eyes?!?! :::swoon:::  Alexis is simply beautiful, has brown hair, and bright blue eyes.  She also certainly seems innocent to take on the role of Ana.  I loved her from Gilmore Girls.

So, there you have it!  My take on Fifty Shades.  Please feel free to add your thoughts/comments, I'd love to hear them!!

xoxo

  2. I bought the first book when it first started popping up all over the internet... before I knew what it was about. Now I just can't bring myself to read it. I go back and forth on if I want to read it. I've heard it sucks you in but the writing and actual story line is AWFUL so yea. Worth the read?

  3. Not tempted at all! Not into pornography. I'd rather spend the time doing those things with my hubby than reading it.

  4. Okay, so I didn't even consider Colin Egglesfield in my list of top contenders for Christian ... but with that pic of him you posted I can definitely see it. For Ana I was thinking Felicity Jones (look her up, lol - she was in an indie called Like Crazy) but Alexis Bledel's name HAS been tossed around and she could work too. My top Christian choices are Ian Somerhalder (Damon from Vampire Diaries) or Matt Bomer, though - looks-wise only for Bomer and Somerhalder is great as the bad-boy-who's-sometimes-good on Vamp Diaries.

  5. Also, yes, it's going to have to be rated NC-17! LOL. If it's R-rated I will be very, very surprised.

  6. Yeah, I gotta say I didn't get all caught up in the hype. Something in me was saying "don't bother"! I've heard the writing was horrible anyway, but obviously it's something cuz I'm in the minority! Glad you enjoyed it!

  7. I haven't read the books but have read numerous blogger reviews - I think Alexis Bledel would be so perfect for the role of Ana. If she is cast I think I may have to give in and read them!

  8. I don't know how I've failed to read more of your blogs in 2012, but I'm definitely going to take the time to keep up with you more.
I want Ian Somerdan (spelling of his last name may be off,but he's Damon in Vampire Dairies) to be Christian. I couldn't get past the English and repeat of comment.
Oh yea, you want true blue sex tips like learning how to climax with your mate I can honestly give them.
