First and foremost, Happy Valentine's Day!!! Let me start off by saying this post isn't how I expected it would originally publish. Now, let's go back 7 years....
It was mine and Jared's first Valentine's Day. We were also very new into our relationship, we had just started dating in January. Things moved pretty quickly between the two of us. We both fell hard, FAST. Anyways, we agreed not to go overboard with Valentine's Day. We were just going to go out for dinner somewhere nice. Jared, however, had other plans in mind.
When I arrived to his townhouse, he had the cutest, sweetest little display set up on his kitchen table. There was this beautiful single pinkish peach rose in a vase. Next to the vase was a bunch of Hershey Kisses in the shape of a heart. It was something so incredibly simple, but it meant the world to me. It came from his heart, and I was totally smitten. That's not the only surprise he had. He also had a trail of Hershey Kisses leading upstairs to his :::ahem::: bedroom. It was the perfect evening.
Fast forward to us now, 7 years later. We've been married for 4 1/2 years, built our house, and have a crazy sweet boy. When we got married, we decided not to really do much, if anything for Valentine's Day. We've always gotten each other a card, sometimes we've gone out for dinner, sometimes a movie, sometimes we snuggled on the couch. The thing is, we didn't need to do anything extravagant for one special day. We just made time for each other. Yes it's simple, but it's the little things that truly mean the most.
Okay, so now here we are on Valentine's Day, and what does my husband do? He throws all our rules out the window!!!
I have probably told Jared a bazillion times that he didn't need to do any of this. He just tells me how appreciative he is of everything I do for our family. Which in turn, makes me swoon all over again!
He stole my heart 7 years ago, and he still keeps me on my toes! I married a pretty darn amazing man :) Pin It Now!
