Back to reality.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation. My parents have a timeshare/beach house that is seriously right on the beach, in Rhode Island. When it's high tide, you could drop something into the ocean from our balcony...it's that close. It is gorgeous there, and SO relaxing. We go along with them, every year. It's a nice family vacation. Because it's in Rhode Island, and my parents live in RI, we have family and friends visit us throughout the week.

First of all, I have to share with you all that this timeshare is now OURS!!! My parents signed it over to Jared & me last week, for $1.00, ha! So awesome.

Lincoln LOVED the beach. He loved watching the ocean. It was still way too cold to go in, but he enjoyed watching the waves, & he even got his feet wet! Jared & I decided that our sweet boy NEEDS a sandbox, this kid loves him some dirt!

I tried to get a TON of pictures of my Dad with Lincoln. My Dad is temporarily moving to Florida sometime in July for his liver transplant. I want to make him a photobook of him & Lincoln to take with him. These pictures are precious...

So, that's our vacation in a nutshell. Very relaxing, and very fun. I'm looking forward to our family making many, many more memories there :)

Grapes are a choking hazard

You all know that, right? Of course you do. So, would one of you mind telling that to my know-it-all Mother inlaw?

Lincoln LOVES grapes. And, as you all know, grapes are a HUGE choking hazard for toddlers. So, the other day I was cutting [and peeling] grapes for my sweet boy. My Mother inlaw says, "why are you cutting his grapes?"

Yeah, exactly.

So, I explain about them being a choking hazard. Her response? "Since When?"

And she wonders why we do not allow her to watch Lincoln. The woman clearly has serious issues. I go into a huge speech about WHY grapes are a choking hazard, and she still doesn't get it. She says, "well I don't think you have to cut them so small."

I think I'm officially obsessed...

...with strollers.

& the crazy part is, I CANNOT EVEN PUSH THE STROLLER! So, really, it's for Jared. HOWEVER, my reasoning is that it is MY sweet boy who rides in the stroller. Ttherefore, I can certainly have a stroller fetish. Insane, right? But, completely understandable ;)

Okay, so remember how I recently posted that we bought the 2011 Baby Jogger City Mini?
Well, we absolutely love it. Lincoln loves it. It maneuvers wonderfully [or so I've been told]. I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Now, rewind to last week. Jared and I were shopping at Babies R Us. We were in the market for a lawn mower...for Lincoln, of course. While we were walking by the strollers, we stopped by this beauty...

Notice, it's even green like our City Mini. Okay now, Jared's been eyeing these Jeep All Terrain strollers since like, forever. He wants to take Lincoln out for some walks/jogs for some Daddy/Lincoln time. Which, I of course think is fabulous. & how cute is that steering wheel for Lincoln to drive along?!

There just so happened to be a little red sticker on this stroller, that read $49.90. Umm, that surely cannot be right. This stroller retails for $179.99. So, Jared trucks this stroller to the front of the store, all the while he's also pushing Lincoln in our brandy new City Mini. We ask the cashier if the price is correct and...IT IS!!! Seriously, insanely ridiculously deal. I personally think we'd be insane NOT to buy it!! So, of course we did :)

Now we have three strollers. Our original, which is a travel system. The super ridiculously best stroller in the world, our City Mini. And now, our Jeep All Terrain. Lincoln is in stroller paradise! And Jared and I might be committed to the stroller police!!

OH...& Lincoln also got his lawn mower. We opted for the bubble mower. He made out quite well...as per usual :)

...well, maybe I'm exaggerating just a bit, but my blog has it's own domain!! Woot!! I finally decided to pay the $10 a year to have my own domain name.

Great Escape

This is where I'm headed to today...Are you incredibly jealous? :)

We're vacationing at my parents townhouse on the beach. They have a timeshare, and we all go every year. It's a great family vacation. I am really looking forward to watching Lincoln play on the beach. I think he'll love it!

I'm actually quite proud of myself, because although I'll be away for an entire week...I actually have blog posts already scheduled to post to my page! How's that for being on top of things?! I am going to be going away quite frequently the next few months or so, because of my Dad's liver transplant...so during that time maybe I'll have a few guest bloggers. 4 years...

Has it really been 4 years, already? Four magical, crazy, glorious, years...since I married my soul mate. It doesn't seem like that is even possible! But, here we are, May 20th, 2011, celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary.

I remember hardly sleeping the night before our wedding. I was so excited about the day to come. I dreamed about this day since I was a little girl, and finally, all my dreams were about to come true. I really felt like a princess. I felt like the luckiest girl in the whole world. And why wouldn't I? I was marrying the man of my dreams. The man who completely swept me off my feet.

We decided to write our own wedding vows. Hearing Jared say his personal vows to me, was a moment I'll remember forever. The way he looked at me that day, there really are no words for it...everyone could witness our love.

Our fairytale wedding was complete with a horse & carriage...

Blissfully happy. That is exactly how I felt that day. Completely in love with my husband. Taking in each moment, together.

We danced like we were the only two people in the room.

And there was more kissing. Lots and lots of kissing.

Four years. We have been through SO much, in really such a short period of time. Living with the inlaws. Building our house. Miscarriage. Thyroid cancer. Pregnancy. The birth of our sweet, beautiful son. A career change. So many changes. So many events, some happy, some sad. So many life experiences. Through it all though, we were together. We're quite the team. We have built a beautiful family, and life together.

Happy 4th anniversary to my amazing, loving husband. Thank you for being you. Thank you for loving me, for me. Four years ago I said this, and I'll say it again today. I promise to love you with all that I am, and all that I have, and the only way I know how. Completely, and forever. I fall more in love with you each day.

A Boy and his Cat

Lincoln loves Oliver, our cat. I honestly have never met a cat like Oliver before. I consider ourselves very lucky to have him in our family. He is the most patient cat I've ever met. Well, let me rephrase that. He is extremely patient with children. His tolerance with them, amazes me. Lincoln can do just about anything to Oliver, and Ollie shrugs it off. For example...pull his tail, or pet him a little too rough. If I was to do that to Oliver, he would surely bite me! But Lincoln? Nope. No way. It's almost like he totally understands Lincoln's a baby, and learning.

The other day we brought Lincoln's old umbrella stroller into the house. He no longer fits into this one, but Oliver sure did like it!Lincoln happily pushed him around the house for awhile. It was the cutest.thing.ever. He even closed the sun shade for him :)

Lincoln adores Oliver. Things like this, make me think he'll be an awesome big brother...when that time comes. Until then, he has Oliver...& his new puppy coming in July :)

Happy Due Date....

...to our puppy!! I don't think I've mentioned we're getting a German Shepherd puppy! Seriously, how stinkin' cute is this face?I cannot wait! Lincoln is going to be in love with this puppy. He absolutely loves animals! I cannot wait to watch the two of them become buddies :)

The mother is due today, and dogs are pretty accurate with their 63 day gestational period. Lucky huh? Only 63 days of pregnancy! We'll be able to go see the pups when they're 3 weeks old, and go visit as often as we'd like. Our puppy will be able to come home with us in July, when he's 8 weeks old.

We have 1st pick of the litter. Jared wants a boy. I really don't care one way or the other. However, we CANNOT agree on a name! I want to name him "Scout," after Lincoln's "My Pal Scout" dog. Jared doesn't like it :::growls::: I'm still pushing for it though :)

If you have any great dog names you'd like to share, I'd love to hear them! Oh, and if you could send some positive, and speedy labor vibes to my puppy's mama, I'm sure she'd appreciate it :)

Extreme Couponing

Have you all seen that crazy show? It's really unbelievable all those deals they get. I'm all for a good deal, but some of it I just find outright INSANE! I mean, how many jars of pasta sauce do you really need? Don't get me wrong, I love me some pasta, but would I really use all that sauce before it expires? Nope. Definitely not.

Maybe if I was planning on donating some of the items to a shelter or something, then it would make a little more sense.

Oh, & I totally use coupons. I clip them every Sunday. My favorite way to save is when I can double a manufacturer's coupon, along with a Target coupon. In fact, I actually saved $17 in coupons at Target the other day. I was quite proud of myself. Granted my total bill was still $159, but still. To me, saving $17 on products I'll actually use, is quite a darn good accomplishment!

I guess I'd get the whole "extreme-ness" of couponing if I would actually use the products...AND not have to build myself a separate house to store my stock.

Riding in Style!

I posted the other day in my "wish list post" that we were in the market for the Baby Jogger City Mini stroller. Well, I've been selling a ton of stuff on ebay lately, so my paypal account was building up the $$$ fast. We decided to put that cash to good use, and get Lincoln his new ride!

He seriously LOVES it! He sat in it the entire time Jared assembled the canopy, snack tray, and cup holder. Then last night, we took him for a walk in it. There's a bike path not too far from our house, so we decided to check that out. It was great, we'll definitely be going back there soon!

Did this stroller cost a small fortune? Yes. However, it is so worth it to see my sweet boy comfy and happy :)

"Kids Say the Darndest Things."

They really weren't kidding when they came up with that saying.

Lincoln's vocabulary seems to grow more and more, each day. I really love hearing him say new words. For as long as I can remember, when he points to something, I will tell him what it is. For example, if he points to a tree, I will say that's "a tree." If he points to a ball, "a ball," and so forth. So, because I usually put the word "a" in front of what the object is that he's pointing to, Lincoln will pick up a ball and say "a ball." He will do this with other words too. He'll put the word "a" in front of the word he's saying.

The other day Lincoln was saying "a butt, a butt..." And then he says, "a Momma butt!" I of course bursted out in laughter...so, he said it again :)

I think I have a little comedian on my hands. And, I think I'm now known as "a Momma butt." Pin It Now!

My [current] wish list...

We all have wish lists. So, I figured I'd tell you what's on my current wish list! I actually had a lot of fun thinking about this, and I'm happy I did it, because now I can refer back to it...you know, so I don't forget anything ;)

Okay, first up is seriously ANYTHING in the watercolor print from Vera Bradley. I adore Vera Bradley, & this print is soooo pretty.Okay, next up is the Kindle. I honestly cannot believe I'm even writing that I want an e-reader. I'm one of those people who said "I'd never want one." I really love owning actual books. However, being able to have hundreds of thousands of books available at your fingertips, really excites me. Not to mention that you can actually get this nifty little device for as little as $114! Yeah, I'm sold, add me to the "I want a Kindle" club.

I would love love LOVE stackable birthstone rings. I'm thinking I probably won't get them until we have baby #2, so I can order them all from the same company & they can be all matchy matchy. I just love the simplicity of these...

Next up on my list is something that is more for Jared, than myself. WELL, technically I suppose it's really more for Lincoln, but anyways. The City Mini stroller from Baby Jogger. It's pretty funny that a stroller is on my wish list, because I am not the one pushing the stroller, it's always Jared. When Lincoln and I go out ourselves, he just sits on my lap :)

Anyways, we are in need of a lightweight stroller for Lincoln. Something that takes up less space. We went to Babies R Us to check them out the other day, & I peer pressured Jared into testing one out. It was love at first push :) We'll be ordering one of these babies soon.

I want a Mother's necklace. Preferably from this etsy shop. I'd like it to say "you are my sunshine" one one disc [that's the song I sing to my sweet boy], & have Lincoln's name on another disc, with his birthstone. Then, I could add another disc & birthstone when we have baby #2.

I also love these brag bands, from the same etsy seller. I think a simple "K heart J" would look
perfect :)

My hardwood floors would greatly appreciate the Eureka Enviro Floor Steamer. Since having Lincoln, our floors are disgusting. I forever feel like I'm picking some nasty sticky substance off our floors. This handy dandy device cleans AND sanitizes your floor! How wonderful!!

I plan on getting the Beco Gemini Baby Carrier, for when we have #2. I hope to wear baby #2 a lot. I figure it will be easier, especially with having an active toddler! This carrier can hold babies up to 35 pounds...& they can face outward when wearing them in a front carry. This was an extremely important feature to me, because I cannot do the backpack carry.

Oh, and NO I am not pregnant with #2, nor are we currently trying. But, we do plan to start trying probably after summer.

Diamond stud earrings. Need I say more? Simple. Elegant. Classic.Next up is a Roomba! Preferably, the pet series one. I think having a robot vacuum my floors sounds heavenly :)
& last, but certainly not least...an in ground pool. I can guarantee that mine won't look like the one pictured, but it will still do the job! We plan on getting one within the next couple of years :)
