It’s no secret that I’m turning the big 3-0 in just one week. My Dad is quite bummed that he’ll be in Florida for my birthday. I just told him that I don’t have to turn 30 then… Sounds like a good deal to me! ๐
I spent all of last week there, the week before he left. The night before we were going to head home, my parents had a little mini surprise birthday party for me. There were two ice cream cakes. One said “Happy Birthday Kami,” while the other said “Happy Birthday Jamal.” My brother has the oddest sense of humor, and found delight in getting me that other cake. He’s also the kind of guy that for Christmas, will wrap me up a potato. I think you get his personality.
Anyways, it was really nice, just myself, Jared, Lincoln, my parents, brother, aunt, and her three girls. Besides the yummy cake…my parents surprised me with this pretty little thing. I mentioned to them awhile back that I wanted to dabble a bit with a sewing machine. I have absolutely no idea how to use it whatsoever, but I have a good friend who sews for a living, so I plan on having her teach me some of her magic ๐
Oh, and doesn’t getting a sewing machine for my 30th birthday seem so fitting….it sounds like a “getting older” gift, ha! I’m pretty excited about it!
My aunt got me this cute little case. I LOVE the print…
& she loaded it up with a few sewing essentials….
Maybe 30 isn’t so bad, afterall ๐

OK, maybe I am evil, but when I saw the sewing machine, my first thought was, "you could sew matching hideous shirts for you and MIL!"
Hope you have a great birthday!! ๐
