Naturally, my Christmas post is a few days late ;) Things have been quite busy here to say the least. Last Tuesday night, Jared's brother came in from Tennessee with his two kids, Mason (age 7) and Mallery (age 5). We hadn't seen them since last March when we took our road trip to visit them, so we were super psyched!
Lincoln loved playing with his big cousins, and they were both so great with him, especially Mallery. On Wednesday we went to this place called "Christmas Village." It's basically set up like the North Pole. There's Santa, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, and a toy shop. It's really cute. Here are the three kids sitting on Santa...Lincoln looks enormous!
Christmas Eve was fun-filled as well. We went to our annual Chrismas party with Jared's entire family....and he has a HUGE family! Here is my sweet boy looking quite handsome :)
Afterwards we went back down to our house for dinner, and so Lincoln could play with all his new toys :) Here he is with his ball popper...
After all that hard playing...he crashed!!!

This weekend we [finally] put up our Christmas decorations. With Jared being gone all week, and me heading back and forth to my parents house, we really have had absolutely no time to decorate!
We have a few changes this year. For starters...an itty bitty 3 foot fake tree that we have sitting in our bay window. I think this is the safest bet for Lincoln this year. I am sure he'd love a huge tree...but I think he'd tear it up :)
So, here it is...sorry for the darkness of the picture, but there's a village on each side of the tree, as well as the misfit toys displayed in the window :) Oh...and you see all that SNOW on the ground! This is the view of my front yard...look at the gorgeous mountains ahead :) I also ordered this super cute stocking that I have been eyeing from Pottery Barn Kids since like before I was ever pregnant :)
And finally, I had to share a family photo. This was taken at "Family Night" at the Police Academy. You can really tell how short I am here :) Lincoln looks super serious, which almost never happens. Anyways, I love how it turned out :)

Christmas. To say I love Christmas would be an understatement. Christmas is, and always has been, my most favorite Holiday. From the time I was a little girl, I always looked forward to this magical time of the year. On Christmas Eve, we would head to my Grandparents house to exchange gifts with my Dad's side of the family. It was always a fun time. Normally towards the end of the night, us four cousins would plan a big show to perform for our older relatives. Definitely hysterical, and tons of fun to watch on video now :)
Driving home from my Grandparents was always fun too. My brother and I would always be on the lookout for Rudolph's red nose glowing in the sky :)
Christmas morning was tons of fun. I remember how hard it was falling asleep on Christmas Eve, due to the anticipation of the morning. I would always wake up first and go wake up my brother. My parents would already be awake, waiting for us. We'd walk together into the living room, and be amazed with whatever Santa had brought for us. We would seriously be opening presents for about 3 hours...insane, I know! My Memere [my Mom's mom] would bring garbage bags loaded with gifts for my brother and me. It was crazy. We always had [and still do] Christmas music playing throughout the day.
Don't get me wrong, I know Christmas isn't just about presents. I don't want you to misread my post. It's just the traditions that I remember as a child, and make it so special to me. It was always a wonderful day filled with family. Everyone was so happy.
I want Lincoln to have those same special traditions. Some will be old ones, carried from Jared and my families...and we'll create some new ones as well. I want him to marvel and be delighted with the spirit of Christmas. It really is "the most wonderful time of the year!" :)

It just occurred to me that I haven't told you all Lincoln's 12 month stats! Needless to say, I've been beyond busy. I am ready for it to be February...that's when Jared graduates from the Academy. That day cannot come soon enough. I miss my husband. I'm ready to have my family back.
But anyways, enough with that..this post is supposed to be about my sweet boy and his ::gasp:: one year appointment with his pediatrician! He is still measuring in the 90th percentiles for everything. He weighs 26 lbs 7 1/2 ounces, and he's 31 inches tall.
Umm...and did I mention Lincoln is WALKING?! Like everywhere. He's a walking pro. He started taking a few steps a couple days before his first birthday, but on his actual birthday, he was practically full on walking! He still likes to walk on his knees as well, which is really hysterical!
He is constantly babbling all the time! It looks like I'm going to have a chatterbox on my hands :) He [finally] says "dada!" He says it ALL THE TIME! Jared melted when he finally heard him say it! He's been saying "mama" for a while now...we've just been waiting for that "dada!"
Lincoln also blows kisses! Sooooo adorable let me tell you :) ....AND, get ready for this...he says BALLOON!!!! It doesn't exactly come out sounding like "balloon," but it's totally what he's saying :) Cutest thing EVER! He is really communicating more and more each day. He points to literally everything, and wants it. It's amazing watching him grow!
Here are a few pictures from Lincoln's one year professional photo shoot :)
I feel like a complete blog slacker lately, and really really hope to be back to full-on blogging soon. However, it is SO hard right now with Jared away, so bare with me :)

Yes, I realize I am way late to the game in posting this. My sweet boy had his second 1st birthday party this past weekend. I have however been ridiculously busy and this is my first chance I got to blog!
