Let the party planning begin!!!

It's crazy to believe that Lincoln will be turning one in just a few short weeks! I have started to jump right into full party planning mode!

As bittersweet Lincoln's first birthday is for me, it really is going to be such a happy time. This year has been the best year of my life. It has also probably been the hardest...caring for a little boy is definitely not easy, but definitely rewarding :)

One of my super awesome e-friends made these invites for Lincoln's birthday bash. And yes...I whited out the important info ;) We're having two parties for our sweet boy. One in RI, and one in CT. It's just way easier that way.

The theme for his party is going to be....GIRAFFES [of course!] :) :) :)

I actually found party supplies that are strickly "just giraffes" from http://1stwishes.com. It was very hard to find something that contained "only giraffes!" Most supplies had all of the jungle/safari animals. But seriously, how stinkin' cute are these?! My BFF suggested we [attempt] to make cupcakes similar to these for the event....

I'm going to try to make these tissue paper poms. I got a tutorial, and it seems relatively easy...but we'll see! I'm going to use blue and yellow for colors, to match the giraffe theme :)

He will be getting a birthday cake too [of course!] One of my Mom's good friends is making the one for his party in RI, and one of my friends is making the one for the party in CT. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with...she can make cakes like Buddy on Cake Boss!!!

I also have ordered a personalized 1st Birthday shirt for Lincoln. I don't have a picture to share as of yet, but seriously, you just might die of cuteness :) :) :)

I am also going to incorporate a little slide show type thing on a digital picture frame of Lincoln's first year to having running throughout the parties.

Baby Legs [Review & Giveaway]

They allow diaper changes to be easy peasy because you don't have to take his pants on and off, and let's face it...babies are wiggly little things, so anything that makes a diaper change easier is absolutely wonderful in my book!

I also LOVED the socks! They have rubber grips on the bottoms so Lincoln won't slip and slide on our hardwood floors while cruising along the furniture. They also [get this...] STAY ON HIS FEET!!! Finding socks [or anything for that matter] that actually stays on a baby's feet, is sooo hard! BabyLegs socks rock!

11 Months Old

Who's baby is 11 months old???? Surely it cannot be my sweet boy! I really really cannot believe we are one short month from Lincoln turning one! I am in full party planning mode...to make sure my sweet boy will have the best 1st birthday bash :)

I said in Lincoln's 10 month post how much he is learning daily...well, that certainly hasn't changed. If anything my little sponge is learning more and more everyday! It is truly amazing to watch him grow.

So, what is Lincoln up to at 11 months??

• His vocabulary is growing. He makes many sounds, and chatters all day.
• He points to everything!
• If you say "number one!" He'll put one finger up :)
• He cruises around furniture like a crazy man...I really think he'll be walking by his first birthday.
• He can stand without holding onto anything for quite some time if he's distracted.
• If he wants a snack, he'll hand his snack cup to you.
• We're in the process of transitioning him to whole milk. Right now we're doing 3 parts formula, 1 part milk. I think we'll be going 1/2 & 1/2 soon. I have two 1/2 canisters of formula left, and I don't think I'll have to buy anymore!
• He's eating mostly table food, but occasionally will still wants his purees.
• Feeds the dogs at my parents house cheerios, and he'll feed our cat literally anything when he's in his high chair.
• He crawls after our cat Oliver saying, "ahhh ahhh" I think he's saying "Oliver." :)
• Gives open mouth kisses on the lips...BUT ONLY FOR DADDY!!! I'm not going to lie, I'm one jealous Mama!
• LOVES to read! He'll even point to the pictures in the book and I'll tell him what it is, then he'll point to something else. It's AWESOME!

I'm sure there's a million and one things I'm forgetting, he seriously learns something new everyday!

Our 11 month photo shoot went way better than our 10 month one! He was much more cooperative, but we also used props :)

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. I look at Lincoln and am filled with such love and happiness that he has brought to our lives. He is my whole world.

And now he's pulling up on my leg for some Mommy/Lincoln time....hope you have a great day!

This is Lincoln's last first holiday. We celebrated his first Thanksgiving last year in the hospital, and although the food was crappy, it was the happiest, and my most thankful Thanksgiving ever.

We are actually taking him trick-or-treating this year too! Because we live in the middle of nowhere, with no neighbors whatsoever, we're going to Jared's Aunt's neighborhood to walk around with his cousin and their kids...I'm very excited :)

Like Father, Like Son...

You all know by now that my husband Jared is in the Police Academy training to be an officer. One day they had to stencil their last names on all their shirts. So you know that Jared had to stencil Lincoln his own "official" training shirt :)

I think he likes it :) :) :)

I apologize for not blogging as much lately. It's pretty tough being a "single Mom" during the week...and I normally don't blog too much on the weekends because it's family time! Lincoln has been having major separation anxiety issues at bedtime lately...poor little guy. Tomorrow we're taking him to the zoo in RI for a special exhibit they have featured for Halloween. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share with you all. Umm, and I don't think I've mentioned it [because I've been avoiding it like the plague], but I'm planning my sweet boy's 1st birthday bash! How bittersweet...
