Weekend Recap

Yes, I know it is now Thursday and I'm just getting to my weekend update now. Let's just say we have been very very busy! Our weekends are filled spending time together...and during the week, it's just me and Lincoln. My sweet boy certainly keeps my days busy! We also go to my parents for a couple of nights during the week, so we're busy traveling the 2 1/2 hours there and back. Honestly, the weeks are going by pretty quickly for me!

This week has been especially busy. Monday, Lincoln and I went to Rhode Island to visit my parents, and yesterday afternoon we headed to the Police Academy for family night with Jared! It was a fun time for all :) I got to meet some of the people in Jared's class, and I was seriously in awe of how nice these men were...all such gentlemen! It was nice.

Now, back to last weekend.....we had a very [full] weekend. Saturday we headed to The Big E. For those of you are aren't familiar with it...it's basically a huge fair in New England that runs for 3 weeks every year. We had fun, despite the heat...my god it was HOT...and the ridiculous crowds. We figure if we decide to go next year, it will definitely be during a weekday, because the crowds were really insane.

He was very cautious at first, but once Daddy showed him how to pet the goats nicely, he was loving it :)

We were only there a few hours because it was way too hot...while we walked back to the car, Lincoln passed out. It is very rare I get a sleeping baby picture anymore, so I seized the opportunity :)

Once we left, it was still relatively early in the day, so Jared suggested we head to the Yankee Candle Village. This was AWESOME!!! This place was huge. All the rooms were set up with different themes. In one room, it snows every 4 minutes...Lincoln thought that was pretty cool! Someone was nice enough to offer to take a family picture of us in front of this tree...I think it came out pretty good :)

We had a blast with Lincoln in the toy room. Here he is riding a zebra :)

And before we left, although we didn't buy one single candle...we did buy our sweet boy this adorable stuffed giraffe :)

I'm not sure what's in store for this weekend yet...but I'm sure it will be something fun! I am also fully aware [and in denial] that my sweet little Lincoln turned 10 months last week...that post will be for another day.

Boogie Wipes [Review & Giveaway]

I'm going to be honest. When I first heard about Boogie Wipes, I thought they were just a marketing scam to make an ordinary wipe or tissue look fancy. However, that was until Lincoln got his first runny nose. There is nothing more sad than a baby with a cold. You can't help but feel bad for them, because they can't blow their nose! Lincoln absolutely despises getting his nose wiped, and when he sees the snot sucker headed his way, he squirms! When I tried the grape scented boogie wipe, he stopped wiggling out of the way. I actually think he tried to lick it...but at least it was able to get the job done! We got to try all the different scents of Boogie Wipes, but the grape was definitely a favorite!

It's pretty simple...you wouldn't use a dry tissue on your baby's sensitive bottom, so why would you on their little sensitive nose?

Sunday nights are the hardest...

I have decided that Sunday nights are the hardest night for me...even though Jared is home. It's knowing that he will be leaving at 5:30am the next morning, and won't be home until Friday night. It's watching him pack his bags and load them into his car. It's watching him give Lincoln his final snuggles and kissing him goodnight...absolutely heartbreaking. The week surprisingly goes by relatively quickly for me. Lincoln and I are at my parents house Tuesday-Thursday, so really the only night's we are home alone are Monday and Thursday. Friday doesn't seem as bad because I know Jared will be home later that evening. Sunday nights are hard.

We had a fun and very busy weekend, as usual! Lately our weekends have been us running all around town because Jared has things he needs to get done or have for the academy. Lincoln and I head out on the town with him though so we can at least all be together :)

We went out for lunch both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we went to Bertucci's. Lincoln loved his 5 cheese foccaccia bread :)

Sunday we went to Friendly's. Although the service was absolutely terrible, we managed to have a fun time. Seriously, the waitress kept putting literally EVERYTHING in front of Lincoln. I wanted to smack her! Here is Lincoln sharing his mum mums with Daddy :)

Yesterday I also taught Lincoln how to clap. It's so stinkin' cute! All I have to say is "clap clap clap"...and he claps away! Such a smart little boy :) I promise I'll catch it on video to share!!

Weekend Recap

We had an awesome weekend....and I have decided that the weekend's go by WAY too fast :(

Since Jared is away at the Police Academy all week, our weekends are really just the three of us. Because our time is limited, we want to soak up as much family time as we can....and Lincoln needs to spend some quality time with his Daddy!

Saturday morning we headed out first thing to the uniform store about an hour away. Jared needed to get a few things. Honestly, the trip was going great until we got off the highway. There was a race going on in the middle of downtown Danbury and literally every road we needed to take to get to the store was shut down. We were in the worst traffic ever for an hour. Lincoln was a trooper for the whole thing, but we were getting quite aggravated!

Once we finally were able to get to the uniform store, we thought we'd grab some lunch. I plugged in the GPS and saw there was a Maggy McFly's nearby...awesome....we headed there. Unfortunately, it looks like Maggy McFly's closed down in the location our GPS sent us. It was nowhere to be found, however it did say, "arriving at your destination, on left." No Lola [our GPS name] there was no Maggy McFly's there, just a Walgreens :(

Jared thought there was a mall nearby, so we were hoping Lola wouldn't let us down again when we located the mall. Lucky for us, the mall was still standing ;)

We ate at Pizzeria Uno, and then shopped around a bit. I was psyched because there was a Janie & Jack. I love Gymboree, and Janie & Jack is like an upscale version of it. And upscale it was indeed. Let's just say I didn't buy anything there...$30 for a pair of knit pants was a bit too much.

We did have a blast though. Before we left, Jared thought it would be fun for Lincoln to have his first carousel ride...

After all that excitement, he crashed...

I don't think he knew what to think about the carousel...he was VERY serious for the ride. When we got home, he happily read one of his favorite books...

Sunday we ran a few quick errands in the morning, bought Lincoln a new toy, and then headed home for the remainder of the day. Here's little Lincoln playing with his new toy...a drum!

We had a great fun-filled weekend...but they go by entirely too quickly. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!!

9 month professional photos!

A couple of weeks ago, I showed you all the adorable outfit I bought for Lincoln to wear for his 9 month photos...and on Wednesday, we got those pictures taken! I honestly was this.close to rescheduling the appointment, because my sweet boy has a little cold with a nasty runny nose. I wasn't sure if he would be up to it...however, I decided to bring him in anyway, and if he wasn't feeling it, we could always come back another day.

Let me just say that my son does not take a bad photo. I kid you not. There was not one bad photo..which makes choosing which to buy VERY hard!! You would never guess he wasn't feeling his best in these pictures...

I think in this picture he looks like a little boy...not a baby!!!
