Oh BOY!

We are very happy to announce that we are having a beautiful baby BOY...and we couldn't be happier! We went to Babies R Us afterwards and started our registry. We are going to do his room theme with stars and puppies! We are beyond thrilled!

Our ultrasound went very well. The tech kept commenting on how we have a "perfect little baby." I don't know if she says that to all patients, but it made us feel good. He was very cooperative and they were able to get all the measurements they needed. They also spent some additional time measuring each and every bone possible for possible signs of Osteogenesis Imperfecta. So far, his measurements look perfect and there are no known signs! I will go back at 30 weeks for another measurement of his bones. I honestly have a good feeling though that he is going to be a perfectly healthy little man :)

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!

Tomorrow is the day!!! We will find out if we're having a precious baby girl or boy! I seriously cannot wait, and I'm super excited! Jared and I are making a complete day of it. My appointment isn't until 3pm, but beforehand we're going to go and order our glider....which could take some time because we have to browse through their fabric swatches first. I want something gender neutral that we will be able to use over again...probably some sort of beige color. After our ultrasound we're going to go to Babies R Us to add to our registry. We went last week and added some neutral things, but tomorrow will be much more exciting! I seriously think we'll spend at least two hours there, maybe more. Afterwards, we're going to go to Olive Garden for dinner to celebrate. I am relaly anxious. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other, I am just ready to know! I will keep my poll up so keep voting! I probably won't get a chance to update until Tuesday because we'll be home late tomorrow night. Let's hope these next few hours fly on by!!!

Latest Doctors Appointment

We had our latest doctors appointment on Monday night and things went very well. I am at 109 lbs. now which puts me at gaining 7 lbs. so far. My doctor seemed happy with my weight. My blood pressure was also fabulous, and we got to hear our little one's heartbeat...which is always exciting! He didn't do an ultrasound because we are scheduled for our BIG ultrasound this coming Monday, the 29th. I was hoping to find out what we are having this week, but I suppose I can be patient.

The only crappy news is I will have to be put under for my c-section. When I was 14 I had spinal fusion surgery and have a rod in my back for scoliosis. My doctor told me that no anestesiologist would even attempt an epidural or spinal given my case. I am okay with this, but Jared can't be in the room :( . He said as soon as they take the baby out of me they will move it to a room right next to mine to clean he/she up and Jared can go right in. I wish he could be there, but I do understand. I will only be out for about 40 minutes and then I will get to meet my little angel.

He also told me that they will start to measure the baby's bones at my upcoming ultrasound to start the process of attempting to determine if our baby will have Osteogenesis Imperfecta like myself. I am praying that our baby doesn't have it, but we are well aware that there is a 50% chance. If that is the case, it would have type 1 like myself, which thankfully, is the most mild type. We won't like it, but we went into this knowing these odds and are prepared for whatever we may face. We will love our baby just the same :)

On another note, I included a poll at the top right of my blog for everyone to vote on what we're having! I really have no idea, but I do think Jared will be thrilled if he has a little princess to spoil :)

Long Overdue...

Well hello there. I have not blogged in ages and feel that I am way overdue. I really don't have any excuse other than the 1st tri kicked my butt! I had morning sickness all day, everyday...yet, never got sick. Worse than that was the fatigue. I felt like I could sleep 24/7. Things started to get better a few weeks ago, so I'm happy I can finally enjoy this pregnancy!

As for our little peanut, I was measuring 3 days ahead at my last ultrasound. Here is the picture of our little cutie.

He/She was moving around like crazy, it was amazing! This was taken at 13 weeks 5 days. My next appointment is June 22. I'm hoping they do another ultrasound so we can find out what we're having. I am really impatient! Otherwise, we will definitely find out on June 29th.

Jared and I also ordered our nursery furniture this weekend. It will take 10-12 weeks to arrive, so I'm glad we were being proactive and chose it already! The brand is Baby's Dream and the collection is Generation Next in cinnamon. Here is a picture taken from their webbsite. We ordered the crib and dresser/hutch combo :)

Now we just need to pick out our glider and the furniture will be complete! We opted to just go with one dresser because the closet in the nursery is pretty large. Jared is going to put in shelving for extra storage.

I will also have to start taking some pictures of my growing bump! I think I have finally popped a bit where it looks like a baby and not that I have just indulged at a buffet!

Anyways, I think this is enough updating for one night. I promise to be more consistent!
